More recently, she also attended the 2022 Governors Awards in a bright green Bottega Veneta dress. “Right before I left, I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m pulling this off.’ But as soon as I stepped out on the carpet, my phone was blowing up. All my girlfriends were like, ‘You look amazing!’”
Of course, no Life in Looks video would be complete without also taking a look at some of Robbie’s many Vogue covers over the years. Her very first was an American Vogue cover shot by Mert & Marcus in 2016, when she was starring in Tarzan opposite Alexander Skarsgard. “Hence the leopard print theme,” says Robbie. “It was such a fun shoot.” In 2019, Inez and Vinoodh photographed the A-lister in a multitude of looks for the shoot. “The concept was [that] I was playing a lot of different characters,” says Robbie. Her July 2023 Barbie-inspired cover is similarly theatrical. Shot by Ethan James Green, we see Robbie do Barbiecore total justice. “We brought in elements of Barbieland,” says Robbie. “That warped sense of scale, that changing of characters and careers.” July 21st can’t come soon enough.
