Margot Robbie Swaps Her Pastel Pink Outfits for the Littlest Red Dress
The Barbie movie world tour has seen the cast delivering delectable outfits in candy colours. Margot Robbie, the film’s lead, has consistently impressed with her custom ensembles for the pink carpet, many of which pay homage to iconic Barbie dolls.
At the London premiere last night, the Australian actor wowed in an exquisite Vivienne Westwood dress in a delicate baby pink shade. This dress, inspired by the “Enchanted Evening” Barbie originally released in 1960 and reproduced in 1995, featured a corseted bodice and a flowing train, which Robbie accessorized with a fuzzy white stole, opera gloves and a tiered pearl choker. However, later in the evening, the star opted for a different style to her ultra-girly run of recent looks.
On the second half of her night promoting the Barbie film in London, Margot changed into a head-turning custom minidress. Crafted by Turkish-British designer Dilara Fındıkoğlu—a CSM graduate—the ultra-short crimson satin dress is strapless, cinched at the waist and paneled with corsetry across the front. Margot completed the striking look with a matching pair of red sandals.
Notably, Margot wasn’t the only one showcasing Dilara’s designs on the pink carpet. Her co-star Hari Nef, earlier in the evening, chose to wear the finale piece, titled Joan’s Knives, from Dilara’s fall 2023 collection. This black dress, which nipped at the waist, boasted a high neck, capped sleeves and was embellished with an assortment of ornamental kitchen knives. After a tidal wave of pink on the film’s promo tour, the stars’ decision to embrace a contrasting aesthetic—one masterminded by one of London Fashion Week’s most exciting talents—was a refreshing change.
