Marcus Rashford is close to signing a new long-term contract at Manchester United.
Sources told Mail Sport on Monday night that negotiations are in the final stages and both sides are confident the deal will be completed soon.
Rashford is due to enter the final year of his current £250,000-a-week contract next week. Talks have been going on for some time, with the 25-year-old’s representatives mindful that the next one could be the most important of his career.
It’s expected that Rashford’s new terms will take him closer to the club’s highest earners who are on £375,000-a-week.
His brother Dwaine Maynard met with Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but the feeling has always been that the Wythenshawe-born star would prefer to stay at Old Trafford. Rashford has been with United since the age of seven and is one of the club’s most successful academy graduates.

He is also keen to continue working under Erik ten Hag, having recovered from a difficult period in his career to produce his best season for United with 30 goals.
Rashford was back at Old Trafford when England played North Macedonia last night, and a source close to the player spoke of a proud Mancunian who was looking forward to playing for his country in familiar surroundings.
‘Marcus is proud to call Manchester home, so he sees representing the national team at Old Trafford as one of the highest honours there could be,’ the source told Mail Sport.
‘Marcus has had a great time training with the squad at St George’s Park this past week and bringing the national team to his home training ground at Carrington. He is buzzing to walk out at Old Trafford.’
Securing Rashford on a new contract will be a relief to United who are already in the market for a striker this summer.
The budget won’t stretch to the £100m-plus fees being demanded by Tottenham and Napoli for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, with even Atalanta’s £86m valuation of Rasmus Hojlund putting him out of reach for now.
United are set to raise their bid for Chelsea’s Mason Mount to £50m and will also a need a new No.1 goalkeeper if David de Gea leaves.
Erik ten hag is a big fan of Rashford and believes he can kick on to score more than 40 a season
