Toronto Maple Leafs starting goaltender Ilya Samsonov left Sunday’s Game 3 with an undisclosed injury after a collision with teammate Luke Schenn.
Joseph Woll replaced Samsonov in the net.

The injury occurred early in the second period as Schenn dove to defend a rebound chance by the Florida Panthers. Schenn slid head-first into Samsonov, hitting him hard into the net. The goaltender was slow to get up and gingerly skated to the locker room after being helped by a trainer.
Schenn was given a tripping penalty on the play after his slide took out Carter Verhaeghe’s legs.
It was Woll’s second appearance of the playoffs after he came in in relief of Samsonov in Game 1 of the first round against the Lightning.
Matt Murray is the Maple Leafs’ third goaltender and Sportsnet’s Luke Fox reports that general manager Kyle Dubas directed Murray to go to the locker room. In the playoffs, teams are allowed to dress a third goaltender under an NHL contract as opposed to an Emergency Backup Goaltender if the first two goaltenders suffer injuries.
