Manoj Bajpayee shares that his earlier movies did not pay well, reveals the real reason he acted in them | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Manoj Bajpayee is one actor who does not need commercial success to prove his versatility and talent. The actor, who is known for path-breaking performances over decades, recently opened up on the kind of movies that earned him huge critical acclaim, but not a lot of money.

In an interview with a leading website, the 54-year-old recently reminisced about the kind of movies that brought him appreciation and love from all quarters, but did not help him financially. Taking examples, the actor said movies like Satya, Shool, Kaun?, Zubeidaa, Aks, Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar, Pinjar and Road were all projects that he wanted to be a part of. He added that while acting in them gave him a lot of creative satisfaction, they were low budget movies that did not make him a superstar, yet paid him some respectful amount of money.
The actor also revealed that it was around seven-eight years after he acted in Satya, that he was able to buy his own house, and with every movie, he was just about managing his day to day finances.

Manoj is currently in the news for his upcoming movie Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai in which he plays lawyer PC Solanki, who won the sexual harassment case against Asaram Bapu, eventually landing him in jail. Currently, the makers of the film are mired in a legal trouble, as Asaram has slapped a case on them, requesting courts to prohibit the release of the movie.
