When the cameras turned away from the band, the fans turned to Twitter to express their confusion and disappointment with the creative decision of MTV. In particular, these fans had no idea about the wardrobe malfunction that happened on stage.

One viewer tweeted that MTV ‘Owe Måneskin an apology!’ because MTV disappointed the band by choosing to not show their performance while showing visuals of ‘Repeated empty seats.’

While another viewer referred to Nicki Minaj’s risqué performance in a tweet and asked VMAs that if Nicky can ‘simulate masturbating’ during the performance on stage then what’s the problem with Victoria de Angelis’s wardrobe malfunction?’

Another observed that MTV could have changed their camera to the other three members of the band instead of fully censoring them, adding that it was ‘unfair.’

The in-person audience was able to see Måneskin VMAs performance even after the wardrobe malfunction with Victoria de Angelis, but the viewers at home could only behold David’s spicy pants throughout the performance.
