Donny van de Beek has agreed to join Everton on loan until the end of the season after successfully hijacking Crystal Palace’s move to sign the Manchester United outcast.
The Toffees, who are set to confirm Frank Lampard as their new manager, have agreed a loan fee – in-excess of £500,000 – to gazump the Eagles. They are also covering all of of his £100,000-per-week wages.
Palace had been hopeful of sealing a deal to take the Dutchman to Selhurst Park, but Everton have swooped in at the last minute.

Van De Beek joined Manchester United in 2020 in a deal worth £40million, but has struggled for game time at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old has started only four matches in all competitions this season and has played just eight minutes in the Premier League since the start of December.
A temporary move away from the club this month always seemed likely to be on the cards, with Newcastle United also interested earlier in the window.
Everton have made signing a new midfielder a priority, with Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph both currently sidelined.

Dele Alli, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have all been linked with a move to Goodison Park, but it has proved easier to get a deal done for Van De Beek.
Incoming Toffees boss Lampard is thought to be a fan of the Dutchman and was keen to sign him.
Everton currently sit 16th in the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone.
