Manchester City 3-1 Leicester: Hosts edge past Foxes to narrow gap to Arsenal
Manchester City 3-1 Leicester: Relief for Pep Guardiola as his side stumble to victory after a second-half barrage from the Foxes as Erling Haaland’s brace helps put pressure back on rivals Arsenal
- Stones opened the scoring in the first half with a fine finish on the volley
- Haaland scored his first from the spot after Ndidi handled a Grealish cross
- He then chipped his second to close the gap to the league leaders at the Etihad
Manchester City edged past Leicester with a 3-1 win to move within three points of Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday.
John Stones opened the scoring after five minutes with a fine volley, and it was all downhill from there for Leicester who remain 19th in the table and two points off safety.
Erling Haaland scored his 46th and 47th goals of the season to make it 3-0 at half time, the first from the penalty spot before neatly finishing an effort from a Kevin De Bruyne pass.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored a late consolation against his former side, but it was too little, too late.
