Manav Vij is miffed with audience ‘stupidity’, says Laal Singh Chaddha performing well on OTT is proof of its genius – Times of India

Actor Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha was touted as one the biggest movies to be released this year. The official remake of the 1994 classic Hollywood movie Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks in the eponymous role, the Hindi version also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role opposite Aamir. However, before the movie could hit the big screen, the whole “Boycott Bollywood” movement started, leading to the film performing dismally at the BO.

The movie however, has been decently performing on OTT giant Netflix where it was released early last month. In a recent interview, actor Manav Vij who starred in the film expressed his displeasure over the whole boycott trend, that costed huge losses to the film’s producers.

In the movie, Manav played a Pakistani soldier named Mohammed Paaji who is saved by Laal in war. The two eventually become close friends and even start a business together. In an interview to Mid-Day, Manav said that people should now start apologising to the cast for boycotting the film in theatres, yet loving it on OTT. He went on to say that the viewers should also transfer the ticket money to Aamir Khan Productions’ account because of the losses the latter has incurred because of the ‘stupidity’ of the audience.

Manav Vij is currently being seen in the web series Tanaav, streaming live on SonyLIV.
