MAN UNITED PLAYER RATINGS: Andre Onana shows the future is bright in goal, but it’s a long night for Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Erik ten Hag’s side are beaten by Real Madrid in Houston

Manchester United fell to a second defeat in 48 hours as Erik ten Hag’s side fell to a 2-0 defeat to an impressive Real Madrid team.

English superstar Jude Bellingham put the Spanish giants ahead early through a delightful chip while Joselu, formerly of Stoke City, wrapped up victory in Houston with a spectacular overhead kick.

United struggled in the final third and it was a long night for Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho leading the line, the latter coming on and struggling off the bench.

Andre Onana could do little about the two goals he conceded on his United debut but showed he has plenty in the tank as Ten Hag’s new No 1.

Mail Sport’s Chris Wheeler was on hand to rate the United players.

ANDRE ONANA 6.5 – Beaten less than six minutes into his debut by Bellingham and had no chance with the second from Joselu, but made a couple of good saves and did more than enough with the ball at his feet to show what he will bring to United.

AARON WAN-BISSAKA 5.5 – Had his hands full with Real’s pace and Bellingham’s threat down the left, and was bamboozled by Vinicius Junior at one point in the first half.

RAPHAEL VARANE 6 – Stepped up to try and play Bellingham offside and got caught out on the goal even though Real Madrid’s new £115m looked like he was just offside.

LISANDRO MARTINEZ 6 – Another game, another booking for a naughty challenge, this time on Bellingham before half-time. Epitomes Ten Hag’s claim that there are no friendlies.

LUKE SHAW 6.5 – Good duel with Luka Modric and got forward well before he was one of nine United players replaced just after the hour mark.

CASEMIRO 5.5 – Returned to United’s starting line-up in pre-season for the first time against his old club and still needs to get back up to speed.

KOBBIE MAINOO 5 – Teenager once again got the nod to start but was injured inside two minutes and had to go off.

BRUNO FERNANDES 6.5 – Played on the right to accommodate new signing Mount before switching to No 10 in the second half. Forced keeper Andriy Lunin into a smart late save from range.

MASON MOUNT 7 – Played No 10 and went close to an equaliser from closer range as well as executing arguably the tackle of the game with a recovery challenge on Tchouameni.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO 7 – Looked lively on his first start in pre-season and wasn’t afraid to shoot on sight on a number of occasions.

MARCUS RASHFORD 5.5 – Like most of United’s international players who returned to training a little later, Rashford is still working his way through the gears and struggled to make an impact here.
