Erik ten Hag is considering moving for long-term target Steven Bergwijn when he takes over at Manchester United.
Bergwijn, the Tottenham Hotspur winger, was close to linking up with Ten Hag at Ajax in January.
But Spurs blocked the Holland international’s exit after encouraging performances, including two decisive goals during stoppage time of the dramatic 3-2 victory at Leicester City.

The 24-year-old has started just once since, with loan signing Dejan Kulusevski preferred by Antonio Conte in a front three alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Bergwijn looks destined to leave Spurs this summer and is likely to cost around £20million after a stop-start two years in the capital. Clubs in Germany and France are also monitoring his situation.
Ten Hag was present for his three goals during games against Denmark and Germany for Holland over the international break and has long been an admirer of the ex-PSV Eindhoven forward.

Capable of playing across the front line, Bergwijn is seen as possessing the tools and energy to flourish in a Ten Hag system.
The 52-year-old has made approaches to sign him in each of the last three transfer windows. Ajax’s budget could not extend to Bergwijn’s wage of more than £100,000 a week.
Who Ten Hag looks to land will depend on which European competition United qualify for next season, with the finances of the Champions League significantly higher than the Europa and Conference League.
