Mamata Banerjee urges all political parties to unite against BJP in Goa ahead of assembly poll

Ahead of her visit to Goa, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday called upon all political parties, individuals, and organisations to come together to defeat the BJP and their divisive agenda in Goa.

“As I prepare for my maiden visit to Goa on 28th, I call upon all individuals, organisations and political parties to join forces to defeat the BJP and their divisive agenda. The people of Goa have suffered enough over the last 10 years.

Together, we will usher in a new dawn for Goa by forming a new govt that will truly be a government of the people of Goa and committed to realising their aspirations,” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, taking to twitter.

Various political parties in Bengal responded differently to Mamata Banerjee’s clarion call in Goa where she urged all to come together to defeat BJP.

Responding to her clarion call, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pradip Bhatatcharya said, “If it is a call with honest purpose, all political parties and people should respond.”

Left Front and BJP however, slammed the Trinamool Supremo for her comments. “The main aim of Trinamool Congress Supremo Mamata Banerjee is to slam and criticize the Left Front. Her only purpose in Tripura and Goa is to cut Left votebank and help BJP. Had she been the face of the anti-Modi Front, she should have contested in UP,” Veteran Advocate and CPI-M leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya said.

Speaking about Mamata’s visit to Goa, BJP spokesperson Shamik Bhattacharya sarcastically said, “Mamata Banerjee, after several months of hardwork, now needs some rest. So, she is travelling to Goa.”

“She is targeting the PM’s chair but it is too small for her. She must try something bigger than that and it will suit her better,” Shamik Bhattacharya said, asked about the Trinamool Supremo’s call to all political parties and people to unite against BJP.
