Maharashtra crisis: Sena MLA Nitin Deshmukh claims police wanted to ‘harm him’
“100-150 Policemen took me to a hospital & pretended as if I’d suffered an attack. They wanted to operate on me, harm me under that pretext. By God’s grace, I’m alright. I am with Uddhav Thackeray” said MLA Deshmukh, who was previously thought to have joined renegade Sena leader Eknath Shinde.

In yet another dramatic twist amid the political crisis in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena MLA who represents the Balapur Assembly constituency in Maharashtra, earlier alleged to have been ‘kidnapped’ and taken to Gujarat’s Surat from where he somehow managed to flee.
“I escaped and was standing on the road at around 3 in the morning trying to hitch a ride from passersby when over a hundred cops came and took me to a hospital. They pretended that I had a heart attack and tried to conduct some medical procedure on my body,” he said, revealing that although he didn’t experience any sudden health issues he was forcefully taken to a hospital.
Deshmukh’s wife on Tuesday had filed a missing complaint at the local police station saying she suspected a threat to his life.
In his wife’s written complaint to the Akola police station, it was mentioned that she last spoke to him on a phone call at 7 pm on June 20 and hasn’t been able to communicate with him and then on his phone has been switched off.
