Romelu Lukaku’s disappointing season hit a new low after the misfiring striker missed an open goal in Inter Milan’s 1-0 defeat by Fiorentina.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter had hinted that the striker could recalled to the squad when his season-long loan ends at the Serie A club in the summer.
But the Blues boss may have second thoughts after Belgian striker, 29, drew another blank in Saturday’s encounter in the San Siro.
Lukaku failed to tap in a cross from six yards out in the second-half.
And the miss proved costly as Giacomo Bonaventura headed home from close range to claim a memorable win for Fiorentina.

Lukaku faces an uncertain future amid reports in Italy that he does not want to return for a third stint at Stanford Bridge.
But Potter revealed Lukaku is a player that ‘he likes a lot’ as he opened the possibility that he is recalled to Chelsea’s squad next season.
Speaking ahead of a match at home to Aston Villa, Potter admitted that he could make use of the £100million former club-record signing.
He said: ‘Although he is our player, he is on loan and an Inter Milan player. I think it is important he finishes that off. Then we have a decision to make in the summer.

‘He is someone I admire a lot, I like a lot but again it is something to think about over the summer.’
Inter reportedly paid a loan fee of around £7m for his services.
But he has scored just three goals in 16 league outings.
He bagged 64 goals from 95 appearances during his previous two-year stint at the San Siro.
