Loewe Threw a Crazy-Chic Party at Miami’s South Beach Institution Twist
There are no shortages of places to throw a party in Miami, but when Loewe decided to throw an event with Gayletter for a new book by artist Florian Krewer, there was only one option: Twist. The oldest gay club in South Beach symbolizes an unabashed embrace of sensuality, much like Krewer’s work itself, which often features free and chaotic characters through a trippy palette of black, pinks, purples, and blues. (These figures, by the way, also inspired Loewe men’s Spring Summer 2022 collection.)
Despite the party taking place on a Wednesday night, the line stretched an entire block and several people deep. Several security guards tried valiantly—and vocally—to keep everyone in single file. The word of mouth, or well, more realistically text, had spread that this was the party to be at.
With a crowd that included Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson, Krewer, Hari Nef, Josh O’Connor, Joan Smalls, Candice Swanepoel, and Meadow Walker, it is easy to understand why. Then there was the entertainment: DJ Kindness and DJ Pascal Moscheni’s music kept guests dancing all night long.
A night at Twist is like a chose-your-own-clubbing adventure. There’s a bar filled with go-go-dancers, a courtyard with pink-light adorned palm trees, a game room with pool tables, lounges, and of course, plenty of places to dance. So is it any surprise, with this much to explore, the party didn’t stop until morning?
Below, see pictures from the raucous night—and for those interested in Krewer’s work, his book will be available at select Loewe stores. Fifty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the International Trans Fund.
