Liverpool: Nat Phillips is set to join Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips is set to join Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season after REJECTING offers from Premier League strugglers Newcastle and Watford

Liverpool defender Nat Phillips is poised to join ambitious Bournemouth on loan for the rest of the season.

Phillips has had offers from Watford and Newcastle this window.

However, the lure of guaranteed playing regular football at the Championship outfit Cherries has proven the deciding factor in the centre back’s decision.

Bournemouth currently sit third in the Championship table, one point off the second automatic promotion spot and with a game in hand too.

Liverpool will receive a loan fee for Phillips but have failed in their bid to offload the 24-year-old permanently this window – with suitors put off by their £15million asking price.

Phillips has played just three times for the Reds this season with none in the Premier League. His last appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side was in a 2-1 win at AC Milan in the Champions League group stages on December 7.

As well as Phillips, Bournemouth are reportedly keen to sign full back Neco Williams on loan for the rest of the season too.
