After the VOGUE World: New York catwalk and street fair festivities in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District came to a close yesterday—though you can still watch! and shop! the celebration—the runway stars and designers relocated, gathering at the nearby Top of the Standard for an after-party in collaboration with Coach.
Some had walked in the show, like Caroline Trentini and Jeremy O. Harris, who both did quick outfit changes before riding the hotel’s storied elevators up to the very top of the hotel. Inside, major views were on offer—both of the city and of all the starry guests in attendance. There was Lil Nas X, who was in top form following his finale performance of “Industry Baby” on the VOGUE World runway. He wore a signature C Coach get-up—vest open, sans shirt. Ansel Elgort was there, and could be seen lingering by the kitchen door, patiently waiting for the Standard’s famous burgers and fries to circulate. Meanwhile, Coach’s Stuart Vevers—fresh off his spring 2023 show at the Park Avenue Armory—mingled with Vogue’s Chioma Nnadi.
A quick scan of the room revealed that music and fashion were heavily represented. Erykah Badu, who walked the VOGUE World runway, swung by; now, she was in a leopard look that was just as fierce as her catwalk. There was Doja Cat, who sported an artful eyeliner look and a leather blazer, and Coi Leray had her abs on full display with a Y2K ensemble. From fashion, designers Batsheva Hay, Jonathan Cohen, Collina Strada’s Hillary Taymour, and Emily Adams Bode were all present and accounted for.
From the cityscape to the bodies populating the room, the after-party offered up the best of New York. It was the ideal way to punctuate the night, which aimed to celebrate Vogue’s 130-year anniversary. If the show’s concept was a day in the life in New York, the after-party unfolded like a quintessentially New York night—one with Vogue, that is.
