LeBron James’ FIRST game-worn Lakers No. 6 jersey goes on auction, with current bidding near $80K for the gold-and-purple piece of history

LeBron James’ first-ever No. 6 Lakers jersey is on auction, and it already looks like it will fetch at least five figures.

James began his stint with the Lakers – which started in 2018 – by wearing No. 23, but switched to No. 6 in 2021.

That switch was made official when James donned the No. 6 in the season opener vs. the Warriors, and his jersey from that game is now listed for auction by SCP Auctions, as TMZ first reported.

According to SCP’s website, there have been eight bids placed for the jersey, with the current highest bid standing at $77,951.

The jersey is classic Lakers gold with purple trim, with James’ jersey size (54) and the date of the game, 10-19-21, written on the tag.

According to TMZ, the jersey was entered into the NBA and MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program, and was photo matched to the first and second of the contest against the Warriors.

That game ended in a 121-114 defeat for the Lakers.

James previously wore No. 6 with the Miami Heat, where he won two titles.

He has only worn No. 23 in his two stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
