Los Angeles Lakers star D’Angelo Russell appeared to enjoy himself in his postgame press conference Saturday as he wound up press staff by promoting his own drink.

The 27-year-old guard sat down for his media duties following his team’s 111-101 win over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 3 of their playoff series and seemed to be in a jovial mood.

Russell arrived with a ‘Coco 5’ water bottle but he was told to remove it from display on the table.

‘That drink, put it down,’ an NBA press staff member said to him.

He asked why, with the league employee saying: ‘Because it’s not one of our partners.’

Russell then quipped: ‘It’s my partner, you gonna have to fine me,’ before plugging the brand.

The NBA worker walked over to take the bottle off the table with Russell adding: ‘You’re gonna have to take it.’

As the Lakers star wrapped up his press conference he then proceeded to promote the ‘Coco 5’ brand by repeating it several times down the microphone.

Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker and the New York Knicks’ Derrick Rose are among the other basketball players who have partnerships with the sports drink company owned by James Reynolds – Loop Capital Markets creator.

Anthony Davis had 31 points and 17 rebounds, LeBron James finished with 25 points after Dillon Brooks was ejected for striking him in the groin, as the Lakers survived Ja Morant’s 24-point fourth quarter to beat the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday night.

Morant scored 45 points in his return from a one-game absence with a sore right hand, even scoring 22 consecutive points during his stunning fourth quarter while Memphis attempted to rally from an early 29-point deficit.
