Similarly statement-making was the custom Carolina Herrera that Meghan Markle wore to the Salute To Freedom Gala in New York. The event honoring veterans was a stately affair, and the Sussexes dressed accordingly, but Markle’s dress reflected the codes of American sportswear rather than palace protocols.
