Kylian Mbappe ‘set to return to PSG squad for their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich’
Kylian Mbappe ‘set to return to Paris Saint Germain’s squad for their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich’ on Tuesday, despite the French striker picking up a thigh injury that was supposed to rule him out for three weeks at the start of February
Kylian Mbappe will be named in Paris Saint Germain’s squad to face Bayern Munich on Tuesday despite his recent injury, reports in France have claimed.
It comes just 12 days after he picked up a thigh injury against Montpellier that was expected to rule the 24-year-old out for three weeks.
According to reports in le Parisien, Mbappe took part in a training session on Sunday and is now expected to return to first team action for their UCL knockout game, a week ahead of his expected return.
The game will be a vital one for PSG as they look to finally pick up a Champions League trophy to go with their domestic dominance.
They faced Bayern in the final of the 2020 tournament but were beaten 1-0 thanks to a Kingsely Coman goal.

If Mbappe does return to the squad, it will give Christophe Galtier’s side a boost after struggling in the past two weeks without him.
They have lost two of their three games in the striker’s absence, including a worrying 3-1 loss to Monaco on Sunday. They remain top of Ligue 1 with a five point lead over Marseilles, but have looked shakier than expected in recent weeks.
After Tuesday’s European game, Mbappe will be keen to get back to league action after losing his top scorer spot to Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun.
The 21-year-old Reims striker has netted 15 goals in 22 league games this season, including an injury time eqauliser against PSG last month.
His form has given Arsenal a headache over what to do when his loan spell ends, with Balogun already attracting interest from the likes of AC Milan.
