Kriti Sanon’s trainer Yasmin Karachiwala reveals how she lost 15 kilos in lockdown after ‘Mimi’ – Exclusive – Times of India

Kriti Sanon recently completed 8 years in the industry. Known to be one of the fittest actors in the industry, Kriti’s recent transformation for her role n ‘Mimi’ and back to her original form has been the talk of the town recently. Playing the role of a surrogate carrying an American couple’s child, Kriti had to gain 15 kg of weight. After the film wrapped up in 2020, she had the arduous task of dropping those kilos during the lockdown without the aid of a gym.

Speaking to ETimes, her trainer Yasmin Karachiwala reveals, “Kriti had to put on that much amount of weight for her role in ‘Mimi’. She was very sure she wanted to do it and she did the role. She knew that she also had to lose weight. So she was very focused. She had to work out so many times a week. But there was no hurry, because again she is a very tall girl. That weight didn’t look obnoxious on her, but there was awareness that this is what I have got to do. That is really important, when actors need to work for something, they need to be very, very sound minded that if I can put it on, then I can lose it as well.”

Earlier, Kriti had revealed, “I began working out at home with the help of virtual trainers. I lost all the excess weight during the lockdown. When I was 15 kilos more than my usual body weight towards the end of Mimi’s schedule, I remember feeling unfit. When you feel so unfit, you understand the importance of fitness.”

On the work front, Kriti has a massive lineup of films including ‘Adipurush’, ‘Bhediya’, ‘Ganapath’, ‘Shehzada’ and Anurag Kashyap’s unannounced project.
