In an interview with a news portal, the 42-year-old actress shared that she doesn’t believe in the gender construct of society and has also thought of herself as a bit androgynous.
Elaborating further, she said, she sees herself as being completely neutral. She feels gender is a taught concept that she doesn’t relate to and added, even during films, when she’s asked to portray a very feminine person, she needs to learn how to.
When asked about her upbringing, the actor opens up on how she had been comfortable with not fitting in from a young age, also because of her parents who gave her a very unconventional and liberal upbringing. She further added, the monotony or the uniformity becomes almost suffocating for her. Even when it comes to her son, she is teaching him to be a freethinker while practising some level of tolerance for society.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Konkona was last seen in ‘The Rapist’ sharing screen space with Arjun Rampal and Tanmay Dhanania. Helmed by her mom, Aparna Sen, the film was released in October last year. Konkona will next be seen in the upcoming web series ‘Soup’ alongside Manoj Bajpayee.
