Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan First box office collection week 1: The Salman Khan starrer still struggling to reach the 100 crore mark – Times of India

Salman Khan starrer ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (KBKJ)’ released last Friday, on April 27. The film released a day before Eid hence the opening day collection was average up to Rs 14 crore. However, as the Eid spirit sunk in, the numbers saw a jump on Saturday and Sunday.
Since Monday onwards, the film has continued to see a drop. The Thursday collection of the film is around Rs 3.25 to 3.50 crore, as per trade website boxofficeindia.com. It saw a drop of 20 percent on Thursday as the Wednesday total was around 4.25 crore. While KBKJ did phenomenal business in the mass centres in its first few days, now that the Eid period has gone down, the collections have also dropped.

However, the Friday numbers will play a huge part in deciding the film’s fate. Even if it gets close to its Thursday numbers on Friday, it will be tagged as an ‘average’ runner. But as per trade, one can surely say that this film has under-performed as compared to other Salman movies. The total of KBKJ so far is around Rs 85 crore and it’s struggling still to reach the 100 crore mark.
Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ has released today and it shall certainly pose as a competition to the Salman Khan starrer. The film is eyeing for a 30crore domestic total from its opening day. The exact numbers by the end of the day will give a clearer status of the box office.
