Kim Kardashian’s Sporty Tracksuit Is Borrowed From the Boys

Unsurprisingly, Kim Kardashian has been dressing up for her trip to New York City this week. On Tuesday, she made the case for summer cargos, choosing a pair of hefty pocketed trousers by The Attico. Last night, however, Kardashian was back in her favorite label—Balenciaga. She wore Demna’s sporty tracksuit, one of the designer’s signature recurring pieces in his collections. Only, this time, her zipped-up two-piece suit was borrowed from the boys.

Kardashian’s slouchy blue and black tracksuit is from Balenciaga’s current menswear collection. The nylon jacket retails for $2,550. Her foray into menswear makes total sense here, given the tracksuit is debatably one of the most unisex garments on the market (Balenciaga also sells a similar red and black style for women). For its resort 2023 season, Balenciaga also partnered with Adidas on special tracksuits—a hot collab that Kardashian will no doubt be wearing in the days to come.

But for now, we’re a fan of Kardashian’s new majorly-sporty look. As a colleague pointed out, she’s also very much channeling Sacha Baron Cohen’s fictitious character Ali G (in a good way), and the mood is a fresh departure from her usual glamorous gowns or spandex catsuits—both of which she wore to couture week in Paris earlier this month. Is summer 2022 the season Kim starts embracing casual athleisure again? She did help spur the bike shorts trend back in 2018—maybe designer tracksuits will be the new must-have.
