Kim Kardashian knows a brilliant coat when she sees one. From the tailored leather trench she wore to Prada’s fall 2022 womenswear showcase (from its new season menswear collection) to the sporty Balenciaga motorcycle jacket she wore to a recent event in West Hollywood, her outerwear is always considered.
Sculptural jackets by hypebeast-approved Dingyun Zhang are her latest obsession. In a recent Instagram post, the reality star and mogul posed for a picture in her closet wearing a puffy jacket from Zhang’s autumn/winter 2020 collection. Kardashian’s first picture revealed its bright blue colour, while a second—taken with the flash on—showed off the coat’s reflective effect. “Is it blue or silver?”, she asked her millions of followers.

Kim has bought into the Chinese designer’s spring 2022 collaboration with Moncler Genius, too—she was pictured in the shiny padded Klolk down jacket at dinner last month. Zhang was tipped for fame by Kim’s ex Kanye West, who recognized the designer’s talent while he was in his second year studying at Central Saint Martins and recruited him for Yeezy. He thrived in the footwear department–he was behind the cult 700 Wave Runners–but since graduating in 2020, Zhang’s puffers are what’s sending his profile soaring.
