Kim Kardashian fixes Australian issue with SKIMS undies

Kim Kardashian has made an exciting announcement for Australian fans.

The mum-of-four and entrepreneur has partnered with David Jones to stock her underwear brand SKIMS Down Under, bringing an end to lengthy shipping times and expensive postage charges.

Currently, shoppers have to purchase via the brand’s US e-commerce site, and face wait times of at least 14 days before items arrive. It also makes exchanges difficult.

However the new partnership names David Jones the excusive stockist in Australia, making it easier for fans of the shapewear, loungewear and undies to purchase.

“I’m so excited to see SKIMS launch in Australia and can’t wait for everyone to experience the brand in real life at David Jones,” Kardashian said in a statement.

“The quality, fit and feel of our collections are so important and I’m thrilled customers will now be able to experience that first-hand.”

Fans have been calling on Kim, who launched the brand with Swedish fashion executive Jens Grede, to bring the brand to Australia since its launch in 2019, with posts on the SKIMS Instagram page regularly littered with requests.

SKIMS was designed to “enhance” a woman’s curves and has been proudly inclusive in its sizing and advertising campaigns since day one.

Bridget Veals, the womenswear and accessories general manager at David Jones, said the SKIMS body positive ethos made the partnership exciting.

“SKIMS is already a highly sought after brand in our market so we are delighted that we can make it accessible for our customers to try and engage with in-store with support from our team of fitting experts, and of course shop via our website,” she said.

“As a brand that supports and celebrates size inclusivity and body positivity, we are absolutely thrilled to be the exclusive bricks and mortar retailer in Australia to stock SKIMS.”

Fans of Kim’s business, which was recently valued at $1.6 billion, include Ashley Graham, Sofia Richie and Kate Moss who was announced as the new face of the brand in July.

David Jones has yet to announce the date SKIMS hits stores, instead creating a waitlist for those who wish to be first in line to nab the undies.
