Kiccha Sudeep on Salman Khan presenting ‘Vikrant Rona’: He wouldn’t associate with our film if he wasn’t confident about the content – Times of India ►

Actor Kiccha Sudeep, on Thursday, launched the trailer of his upcoming film ‘Vikrant Rona’ which will have its Hindi dubbed version presented by Salman Khan.

Speaking at the launch event, the actor opened up about his bond with Salman, since they shared the screen in the hit film ‘Dabangg 3’. “My relationship with him is nothing like give-and-take policies,” Sudeep said saying that Khan’s decision to back his film was purely because he was confident of its content.

“‘Dabangg’ was my gesture towards his films, this is his gesture towards my film. Salman is the kind of human who is okay to come and do a song or cameo, but this was very close to his heart. I don’t think he will associate with our film until he is confident about the content,” the star said.

Going on to reveal how their friendship developed over time, he added, “Actually, it was during ‘Dabangg’ that we were in the initial stages of discussion. It was much later when he saw the clippings that he threw in the idea.”

Just last month, Salman made headlines when he tweeted the film’s teaser and sent a shout-out to the Kannada star saying, “I am still spellbound by the visuals brother @kichchasudeepa Happy to present the Hindi version of #VikrantRona – The biggest 3D experience in Indian cinema.”

Speaking about Salman coming on board for the film as a presenter, he said “We were not expecting anything else, we had done our hard work, we had done our bit. From brother-to-brother he came in as a presenter and he is taking a lot of initiatives.”

Kiccha also revealed that Salman “wanted to be in Bangalore and even in Mumbai (during the promotions), but because of his protocol issues, he is not here.”

The Bollywood star recently received a threat from gang members which was later believed to be an extortion attempt. Not taking any chances with the threat, Salman flew off to Hyderabad to shoot for his next film. As advised by the police, the actor tightened security on the sets and restricted his public appearances.
