‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha’ director Faruk Kabir: Vidyut Jammwal himself choreographed an action sequence for the climax shot in Egypt – Times of India

Vidyut Jammwal is all set to return with the second part of his action thriller titled ‘Khuda Haafiz: Chapter II – Agni Pariksha’. If the action-packed trailer is anything to go by, fans of Vidyut are in for another spectacle as the actor returns in a novel avatar, to conclude the story of Sameer and Nargis played by Shivaleeka Oberoi. Director Faruk Kabir sat down with ETimes for a candid chat and revealed all that went into the making of this film, Vidyut’s character and more.

The action sequences seen in the trailer of the film are impressive. Speaking about the same, Faruk said, “Vidyut is known for high octane stunt based action and that is the best part of both Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. There is emotion in his action and it was a challenge to bring newness to his avatar and his action. One needs to think about the character behind the action, it’s very important. There has been no body double and the scenes are shot live at real locations. And because of Vidyut’s expertise, there have been no injuries during the shoot. ”

“Action is not an easy thing to do. It’s a very, very serious business and you have to approach it with technical specification. It’s all about Vidyut and me coming together and putting all our ideas together and just to let you know he has even choreographed the action for one of the sequences, a special climax that we shot in Egypt. When we went to Egypt, there came up a situation where we didn’t have the action director, or the choreographer. Even the DOP fell sick. So it was very challenging, but Vidyut and I choreographed and shot the sequence on our own,” he added.

When asked if he had anyone apart from Vidyut Jammwal on his list for the lead role in ‘Khuda Haafiz 2’, Faruk said, “No, Vidyut is a very emotional person. You can’t see it because you only see the image on screen. But I know the person behind that image, so I can take a lot more from this personality to integrate it into a film.”

Further talking Vidyut’s character in the film, Faruk said, “Vidyut’s character isn’t a black or white character. When you watch the film, you’ll see that in the beginning you met some characters, but by the time the film gets over, they transform into someone else altogether. All the characters in the film are layered, so that is always challenging.”
