Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz – UFC 279: Start time, live stream, latest updates and results
Legendary UFC superstar Nate Diaz beats fellow veteran Tony Ferguson by fourth-round submission to secure a win in the final fight of his contract – before teasing a switch to BOXING next!
Nate Diaz choked out Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 278 to bring the curtain down on his legendary UFC career.
In his post fight interview, Diaz suggested that he will be taking his talents to other combat sports with a debut in boxing heavily implied.
Elsewhere on the card, Khamzat Chimaev just demolished Kevin Holland by rag-dolling him from the first bell to secure a d’arce choke in the first round.
But Diaz was the star of the show just as many fans hoped he would be with his final outing in a UFC career that spanned a staggering 15 years.
The Stockton legend, 37, was facing the phenomenon that is Chimaev just three days ago, but when the Russian-born-Swede weighed in eight pounds over the agreed weight limit, UFC bosses were forced to reshuffle the card.
A late notice bout with Ferguson proved to be no problem for Diaz as the popular pay-per-view star showed shades of the gangster mentality that caused fans to become enamoured with him in the first place.
