‘KGF: Chapter 2’ Hindi box office Day 1: Yash-starrer beats ‘Baahubali’ to record highest advance bookings with Rs 38 crore collection – Times of India
The Hindi dubbed version of the film has officially recorded the highest advance bookings, beating even SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’. According to reports on boxofficeindia.com, the film that was released in theatres today, earned an estimated total of Rs 38-39 crore with its advance bookings.
While it has earned a minor edge over ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’, it managed to get a huge 15% margin with ‘Bahubali – The Begining’. The total advance of the film is around Rs 38 crore nett with its day one collection estimated at around Rs 21.50 crore nett.
The film saw huge bulk bookings in multiplex chains that earned an estimated Rs 12.90 crore nett and sold 5.10 lakh tickets on day one. However, the chains have managed to earn just over Rs 22 crore nett from the 8.6 lakh ticket sale for the next four-day weekend.
‘KGF’ is looking forward to a strong opening in various sectors, including Odisha and Mumbai. However, it remains to be seen if the film can dethrone Baahubali’s all-India record.
While ‘KGF 2’ started off its weekend with an advance booking total of Rs 38-39 crore, ‘Bahubali: The Conclusion’ earned an estimated Rs 37.53 crore.
Also in the top 5 are Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s ‘War’ which earned Rs 29.53 crore, and Aamir Khan’s ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ which collected Rs 26.27 crore and Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ which earned Rs 24.76 crore.
Meanwhile, ‘KGF 2’ has broken another record. The film beat Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ to have the widest release in the post-pandemic time. The film will debut on around 4,500 screens today across the country.
