Kevin Durant is OUT of tonight’s Suns game against the Thunder after SLIPPING on court during pregame warm-ups… leaving Phoenix fans sweating over fitness of their new star

Phoenix Suns’ superstar forward Kevin Durant has been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after injuring his left ankle slipping on the court during pre-game warmups.

Durant has played three games for the Suns since he was traded from the Brooklyn Nets just before the NBA trade deadline.

Throughout his three games he has averaged 29.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.

Durant was diagnosed with ‘left ankle soreness’ according to an announcement made by the Suns, but it is currently unclear how long the injury will keep him sidelined for.

Veteran swingman Torrey Craig was inserted into the lineup in his place on Wednesday.

Phoenix has won all three of their games since adding Durant to the roster as the combination of him and superstar Devin Booker has proved to be too difficult for opposing defenses to stop.

Booker has scored 35 or more points in all three games since Durant’s addition to the lineup. His average for the season has been 27.2 points, showing just how much he has benefited from Durant’s presence.

Durant’s trade from the Nets came shortly after point guard Kyrie Irving was shipped from Brooklyn to the Dallas Mavericks, after Irving requested a trade following a lack of progress in contract negotiations.

Phoenix and Oklahoma City are both in desperate need of a win due to the tight knit nature of the Western Conference playoff race.

The Suns’ current record is 36-29 which is good enough for fourth place in the West. Oklahoma City, on the other hand, is currently in a three-way tie for 10th place in the conference with a 31-34 record.

If the season ended today the Thunder would lose the tie breaker for the final spot in the NBA play-in tournament.
