Kenny Mayne, former ESPN broadcaster and Seattle superfan, is still in pain over the Seahawks losing to the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.
Kenny Mayne spoke with Malcom Harris-Gowdie and Matt Verderame, representing FanSided and the Special Olympics, on Stacking the Box during Super Bowl week at Radio Row.
Kenny shared a lot of good stuff in the interview, including the best piece of advice he ever received, a brace that helps a lingering joint injury that he started a foundation around, and more.

Mayne chose one where he and Stuart Scott walked Kobe Bryant and Keyshawn Johnson through a “rookie camp” where they, quite aggressively, prepare the two players with media training. When he was asked about his favorite Super Bowl, Mayne, of course, said the Seahawks most recent win was his. But he immediately pivoted to one of the worst moments, which was losing the big game the next year to the Patriots.
“When the Seahawks beat Denver. Worst one, the next year, when they lost. And I wasn’t covering those actually, I was just there as a fan.”
With a yard to go on second down, the Seahawks curiously threw the ball instead of handing it off to running back Marshawn Lynch. Had they scored a touchdown, they would have taken a lead with less than 30 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. Instead, Malcolm Butler picked the pass off.

While most people say the Seahawks should have just run the ball, Mayne has a slightly different idea for what he would have done instead of calling a pass play on the play that resulted in a Seahawks interception, sealing the game for New England.
“Seattle should have not given it to Marshawn [Lynch] they should have faked it to Marshawn and rolled left now you run it in, you throw it in [or] you throw it away, now it’s third down if you don’t. But nope, they ran that play over there and Malcolm Butler still has the ball.”
