Kendall Jenner has an array of vintage summer dresses in her closet, from her Jean Paul Gaultier Venus de Milo number to her lace-trimmed slip from Stella McCartney’s Chloé era. Now, the model has added a new archival dress to her wardrobe, in the form of a baby-blue gingham dress from Comme des Garçons, dating back to 1997.
Sourced from Aralda Vintage, the easy-to-wear checked dress, featuring ruching on the bodice, is the perfect choice for a summer vacation. Jenner teamed the piece with a pair of white sandals and shades, finishing off the look with a netted tote bag – which appeared to be full of supplies for her road trip.
If the dress looks familiar, that’s because Bella Hadid wore a pink version of the same piece when she appeared on stage at a Create & Cultivate event in LA last summer. A more commercially-friendly version of the gingham dress featured in the Comme des Garçons’s Lumps & Bumps collection, it’s clear that both Jenner and Hadid have an eye for fashion history.
Of course, Jenner isn’t the only Comme des Garçons fan in the family, with sister Kylie Jenner spotted in a hot-pink top and black miniskirt, featuring trompe l’oeil hands across the chest and waist, in London last year. If you needed any more proof that there’s a vintage piece out there for everyone, just look to the Kardashians.
