Are you team thong or granny panties? Well, there is an extreme option for both at the 2021 Met Gala, as seen on Kendall Jenner and Zoë Kravitz. First, Jenner showed off her underpinnings on the red carpet, wearing a sheer beige, curve-skimming dress by Givenchy. Encrusted with rhinestones that crept onto the shoulders like epaulets and a crystal fringe that traced the bodice, the dress was megawatt. It also exposed a pair of french cut granny panties, meaning full coverage and full support.
While Jenner went the tame route, Kravitz opted to go a bit more, well, naked. The stunning actress opted for a halter chainmail dress made entirely out of rhinestones. (There were little YSL initials in the middle of each chainmail diamond.) Kravitz’s slinky look left little to the imagination and came with none other than a matching rhinestone thong.
Underwear on the Met Gala red carpet isn’t a new concept. In 2019, Hailey Bieber gave us a whale tail moment thanks to Alexander Wang; back in 2017 Jenner went the thong route in a black number by La Perla; and Madonna’s Givenchy dominatrix ensemble in 2016 was simply unforgettable.
As Jenner and Kravitz’s top drawer delights? The pieces are both chic and daring in equal measure.
