Katrina Kaif hails Alia Bhatt’s Met Gala look, showers love on her: See inside | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Alia Bhatt made heads turn at her maiden Met Gala appearance in a pristine, pearl studded bridal-esque white gown by Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung. Looking breathtaking, Alia walked the red carpet, even as fans from across the globe went gaga over her look – simple, chic and so classy.

Sharing her look, Alia penned a lengthy note on her IG handle, paying homage to legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld, who was the theme for this year’s event. She wrote, “Met Gala — Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. I have always been fascinated by the iconic Chanel brides. Season after season, the genius of Karl Lagerfeld shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture. My look tonight was inspired from this and in particular by supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal look.”

She further wrote, “I wanted to do something that felt authentic (hello, pearls!) and proudly made in India. The embroidery, made with a 100,000 pearls is a labour of love by @prabalgurung. I’m so proud to wear you for my first Met.”
She also said, “A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED????”

Many of Alia’s fans and friends commented on her post, raving about her look. Not only that, Katrina Kaif too, could not stop going gaga over her and wrote, “So pretty” in the comments section, along with a heart emoji.
