Holmes’s minimal outfit proved that, with the right proportions, even the simplest of ensembles can pack a serious punch. She wore a black shirt-dress from Kate Spade’s new spring collection, as well as a sleek, white crossbody bag, and a pair of black leather knee boots with crystal embellishment. The statement boot concealed under a long skirt is a chic alternative to wearing it loud-and-proud with, say, a mini skirt. It’s also a major runway styling trick: We’ve seen them worn this way at shows like Victoria Beckham, Balenciaga, and Sportmax.
