Katie Holmes Gives the Boho Halter a Fresh Summer Feel

Katie Holmes has been out and about with her new man, composer and musician Bobby Wooten III, this past week in New York City. The couple has been taking various strolls in the park (ah, blossoming love!). For their latest outing Tuesday morning, the duo braved the heatwave in light, summery looks. It was Holmes’s statement top that immediately caught our eye: a bohemian halter top with XL fringe. 

Holmes’s halterneck crop top by Chloé is an elevated take on groovy dressing, especially given that it’s made of woven silk and retails for $2,350. (She’s been on a real Chloé kick lately, having worn the label’s bold striped knitwear last month). Though fringing feels like more of a fall-winter staple, the piece’s open back and cropped silhouette made it feel seasonally appropriate. The star also styled it well with black high-waisted trousers, a structured crossbody bag, and blue ballet flats (which, by the way, are having a cool girl comeback). 

We’re totally on board with her head-turning top. For one, it’s perfect for twirling through the park with your new beau, like something out of a rom-com. But secondly, it commands attention while keeping the fit easy and breezy. Sure, a more simple halter top will forever be a summer staple—but we love the idea of having a few hero pieces in the wardrobe that pack a much bigger punch. And this one’s definitely a knockout.
