“Whatever opportunity you have, give it everything,” says Kathryn Newton, recalling a life-changing pearl of wisdom she received from Paul Rudd, her co-star in the new Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. “I know on this movie, I gave it everything I had,” she continues. “He really inspired me to do that.” Accordingly, Newton channels a similar dedication into her beauty regimen. The 26-year-old star details her beauty secrets here, from grooming her fluffy brows to executing a foolproof red lip strategy.
“Let’s go,” says Newton, before throwing her hair into a bun. She begins by double cleansing, reaching for micellar water to remove any remaining impurities. A Sisley-Paris mask to calm redness is next, followed by 24-karat gold-infused under-eye patches, moisturizer, and a generous spritz of Omorovicza face mist. Then, lips are prepped with a Dior lip scrub and rejuvenating sheet mask. The final step of skin care is a veil of Clé de Peau’s tinted sunscreen, which provides protection and a perfect canvas for makeup.
“The best makeup advice I’ve received is less is more, which is kind of hard because I love makeup,” says Newton, buffing in concealer and Koh Gen Do foundation. Bronzer, blush, and weightless highlighter add warmth to her complexion, locked in place by Laura Mercier powder, while Anastasia Beverly Hills’s sculpting wax shapes her naturally bold brows. To further accentuate her eyes, Newton opts for a brightening waterline pencil, brown eyeliner, a touch of shimmering white eyeshadow, and lengthening mascara.
As for the pièce de résistance of her look, a “classic Kathryn red lip,” the star relies on two Chanel lip liners (shades 174 and 178) and their richly-pigmented lip tint. Finally, finishing touches come in the form of Guerlain perfume, hair oil, dry shampoo, teeth-whitening gum, and a final spritz of face mist. The completion of her look is marked by what else but a selfie. “Oh! I might have to post this,” she muses. We can’t help but agree.
