Karl ‘saw it all’ in TV icon’s shower mishap
An Australian icon has been put on the spot on live TV to respond to a tongue-in-cheek rumour Karl Stefanovic saw too much.
Channel 9 NRL legend Phil Gould says Karl Stefanovic saw everything when TV icon Ray Warren picked up the phone while still in the shower.
It was not the subject fans expected to hear about when they tuned in to watch Gould and Warren commentate during the Sea Eagles’ mauling of the Roosters on Friday night.

The Roosters were being put to the sword in the first half when “Gus” changed the conversation suddenly to air some rumours he had heard earlier that day following a conversation he had with morning TV presenter Karl Stefanovic.
The tongue-in-cheek conversation left fans not knowing where to look or what to do when Gould poked at fun of his colleague about a claimed shower mishap. It began with Gould getting his offsider to admit he takes his phone into the shower with him.
“I got a phone call this afternoon from Karl Stefanovic, who said he gave you a ring to wish you luck and you answered it while you were in the shower,” Gould said speaking to the man popularly referred to as the voice of rugby league.
“Do you answer the phone while you are in the shower? Is that what you do? Did you know it was a FaceTime call? I think he saw everything. I think he saw everything.”
Without skipping a beat, “Rabs” responded: “I don’t think so. There wouldn’t be much to see anyway. He’s probably telling fibs, Stefanovic.
“I think I said to him, ‘I’m just getting ready to have a shower to go to work. Do you mind’.
“Don’t know what I was doing with the soap, dropping the damn thing.”
Just another moment of Rabs and Gus magic.
Their recent list of lunacy includes talking on air about Warren’s run in with rap icon Snoop Dogg and the pair losing it over the cardboard cut-outs used to simulate crowds during the 2020 NRL season.
And there’s still two weeks to go before the season wraps up.
