Karan Johar reveals the worst criticism he has received is from Jaya Bachchan. Here’s what she told him… – Times of India

Karan Johar has often received praise for his hosting skills. However, there was a time when he received the worst criticism ever and it was from none other than Jaya Bachchan.

In a recent interview with a news portal, Karan revealed that the worst criticism he received was that he speaks too loudly when he is on the stage even though there’s a mic. This came from none other than Jaya Bachchan. The filmmaker added that he tried to explain to her that he was just trying to be energetic. To which she said that is what the mic is for and that he doesn’t need to scream when he is out speaking.

Talking about the new season of his upcoming celebrity talk show on an OTT platform, Karan recently told PTI in an interview, “There was a lot of social media hate generally towards Bollywood at one point and Koffee with Karan popped up as one of the targets… But I knew even then that this is all virtual, it’s not real. It’s not really the truth because had it been why would the OTT platform want to do the show? Why would actors want to come on the show?”

Elaborating further, he added, “Why would I be still interested in doing it? I think we were all aligned. And that’s why we realised that all that negative banter was just that — it was a mirage. It didn’t really exist. None at all.”

On the work front, he is coming up with ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film will also feature Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in supporting roles. It is slated to hit the theatres in February 2023.
