Karan Johar reveals if Shah Rukh Khan is doing a cameo in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani just like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Times of India

Karan Johar is all excited for his directorial comeback with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. After releasing the film’s trailer, Karan went live on Instagram and answered some fan questions.
When Karan was asked whether Shah Rukh Khan will have a surprise cameo in the film the way he did in last film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the filmmaker paused a bit and said that SRK is not in the film.
“No, he is not (in the film) but his love and blessings are always with me. He is family to me and he was the first person to put out the first unit of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” he said.
However, Karan revealed that there are three surprise cameos in the film. Fans have already spotted Ananya Panday in the trailer. When Karan was asked if he is doing a cameo in the film, the filmmaker laughed and replied, “Fortunately, for all of you, I am not in the film. My success as an actor has been pretty much zero.”

Karan also revealed that the characters of Rocky and Rani are inspired by real-life people. “Rocky is definitely inspired by somebody who I can’t reveal right now. Rani is like many people I have met. In fact, a member of the media that I knew very well and dressed a lot like the way Rani does,” he said.
The trailer took us into the lives of Rocky Randhawa and Rani Chatterjee, whose lifestyles are diametrically opposed. While Rocky is a Punjabi lad from a wealthy Punjabi family, Rani comes from a Bengali household where knowledge and intelligence are valued above all else. And they fall in love but soon the couple realizes that their families don’t like each other. Then Rocky and Rani decide to ‘Switch’ and live with each other families to impress them.
Apart from Ranveer and Alia, the film stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in the lead roles.
