Kangana Ranaut on Dhaakad’s box office failure: I see lots of curated negativity but 2022 is the year of blockbuster – Times of India

Actress Kangana Ranaut’s latest release ‘Dhaakad’ tanked at the box office. The Razneesh Ghai directorial had a poor start at the box office with less than 1 crore on its first day. Almost two weeks after the release, Kangana took to her social media handle to defend herself after the box office failure.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Kangana shared a post which called her the ‘box office queen of India’. She wrote, “2019 I gave Manikarnika 160 cr ka superhit hit, 2020 was covid year. 2021 I gave the biggest film of my career Thalaivii which came on OTT and was a huge success.”

She also added, “I see a lot of negativity but 2020 is the year of blockbuster—lock up hosting. And it’s not over yet…I have great hopes with it.” Speaking of ‘Dhaakad’, the film was also taken down by distributors due to it’s extremely low audience turnout.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Kangana has begun preparing for her next political drama ‘Emergency’. She will also be seen in ‘Tejas’ portraying the role of an Air Force pilot. She also has ‘Manikarnika Returns: The legend of Didda’ and ‘Sita: The Incarnation as her upcoming projects’. She also wrapped up the filming of her production, ‘Tiku Weds Sheru’ starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur.
