Kangana Ranaut doesn’t want to get into politics, says ‘I am happy with my life now’ – Times of India

Kangana Ranaut has cemented her position in Indian cinema with films like Gangster, Queen, Tanu Weds Manu franchise , Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi etc. While on one side she is a stupendous actress, on the other, she is also known to not hold back when it comes to voicing her thoughts about the politics of the country, which has, time and again got her into controversies.Many believe that she does all this, as she aims to get into politics like Vijayashanti, Roja, Kushbhu, and late J. Jayalalithaa.
The actress is currently on promotional tour of her upcoming film Chandramukhi 2 opposite actor-director Raghava Lawrence. At the recent media interaction, she addressed this question and said , “I am generally an aware and responsible person. A lot of people say that I say and do things to get into politics. That’s not true. I am a pakka desh bhakt. There’s no ulterior motive to this. I am happy with my life now, and I have worked hard to get here. I don’t know if I want to start a new career from scratch.”
Chandramukhi 2 also marks Kangana’s return to Tamil Cinema, she has earlier done films like Dhaam Dhoom and Thalaivii. Talking about she said , “I am happy all three have been good. Especially, Chandramukhi 2 because I haven’t done such a colourful film with elements like drama, fights, and songs. It is also a high point in my career to work with Raghava Lawrence sir, who made me so comfortable on the sets. ”
After Chandramukhi 2, Kangana will be seen in her long stranded film called Tejas where she plays India’s first female fighter jet pilot. The film has been waiting in the wings for nearly two years now. She will also be donning the director’s hat with Emergency where she plays Indira Gandhi and showcase the times when India was put under Emergency by the late Prime Minister, back in 1975.
