Kajol: I’d put Ajay Devgn on trial and he will even accept the charges – Exclusive – Times of India
Kajol will be playing a lawyer for the first time in her career and when asked who would be the first person she would like to put on trial, after a lot of deliberation and prompting she ended up taking her husband’s name. She said, “I’d put Ajay Devgan on trial and I don’t even need to give any reason for it. Being a husband is more than a reason to put him on trial and knowing him he will even accept the charges.”
Thanks to OTT, it is a rather interesting time for actresses from the 90s, who are getting a chance to play a central character, a hero’s role once again, be it Madhuri Dixit (The Fame Game), Sushmita Sen (Aarya) , Raveena Tandon (Aranyak) and Kajol being the latest addition to the list. Talking about it, Kajol added, “I have never considered myself a hero. I have this innate belief that I might have a strong role that may be a big part of a film or a show but a film is made by each and every person working on it. I will not be able to do a good scene if I don’t have a good actor opposite me and a good director behind me or a good director of photography. It is everybody’s little-little contribution that goes in making a good film. It is never just the hero regardless of whether he takes the credit or the blame or the paycheque and goes home.”
She also revealed what made her say yes to the show. She said that she first wanted to hear the adaptation. “As Suparn Varma (creator of the show) mentioned that The Good Wife is a western concept set in a western world and it had to be adapted to India, our sentiments, our society and our culture. And when you add all of this, does the show lose its zing or does it become too emotional? So all those things had to be taken into consideration and once it was done, I agreed to it.”
