Kajol confesses she struggled with her own skin, recalls being called dark and fat when she started working in the industry – Times of India

Kajol made her acting debut in 1992 with Bekhudi at the age of 17. She gained commercial success with her 1993 film Baazigar alongside Shah Rukh Khan and since then there has been no looking back. In a new interview, Kajol recalled her struggle with her own skin and how she was being judged for it when she had entered into the Hindi film industry.
In a chat show, Kajol said that she was called dark, fat and someone who wears specs all the time. However, she was not at all concerned about it. She knew that she was cool, smart and better than everyone out there who were making negative comments about her.

She then went on to confess that she has struggled with her own skin and struggled to believe that she is actually beautiful. She said that she was about 32-33 when she actually began to look in the mirror and tell herself that she looks good enough.

She said that she continued to be herself and never let it show. ‘And like I said, you fake it, till you believe it and eventually you will make it.’

In an old interview, Kajol had denied undergoing any skin whitening surgery and quipped that she has just stayed out of the sun. She had also added that she was working under the sun for 10 years of her life, which got her tanned. She had said that she got untanned because she was not working in the sun anymore and stayed at home.
