Jurgen Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold have both sung the praises of Liverpool’s ‘special’ teenage star, Fabio Carvalho.
The summer recruit from Fulham was a second half substitute and notched his first goal for the club during the Reds’ 9-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Saturday, scoring the side’s eighth goal with a sweetly-struck volley.
The 19-year-old’s performance in the comprehensive victory was singled out by both his manager and team-mate after the match.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has called his Portuguese summer signing a ‘special’ player
Klopp reserved praise on all the young stars who featured at Anfield, but lauded Carvalho by stating;
‘We [brought on] on the kids, they deserve it so much. Fabio is a special player and a wonderful goal, everything was perfect, pretty much.’
It is an opinion shared by the Portuguese star’s Liverpool team-mate, with Alexander-Arnold predicting that attacker has the potential to be a huge player at the club.

‘He’s gelled well with the lads and he’s got the world at his feet. I’m sure he’ll go on to do amazing things. For him it’s about pushing a place into the team and making an impact and today he’s bagged himself a goal.
He’s built himself a really good foundation for this season so hopefully he can go on and push further.’
Carvalho arrived on Merseyside in June following a standout campaign for Championship winners Fulham last season. The young star netted 12 goals in 44 appearances for the Cottagers and was named in the PFA Team of the Season.

Liverpool paid a nominal fee of £5million to bring him to Anfield to avoid going to a tribunal. Carvalho’s deal was set to expire this summer, but FA rules means clubs are entitled to a compensation if another side signs an academy player they’ve brought through on a pre-contact agreement.
The demolition of Bournemouth was Liverpool’s record Premier League win and matches the league’s all-time record scoreline, set by Manchester United and Leicester City.
It saw the Reds back to winning ways following a disappointing start to the season where they only amassed two points from their opening three games.
