‘Jurassic World Dominion’ misses Rs 50 crore mark by a whisker as it completes first week at box office; ‘Janhit Mein Jaari’ crashes with Rs 3.25 crore – Times of India
The film that shared the box office business with the Bollywood release ‘Janhit Mein Jaari’, claimed victory by a huge margin. While the dinosaur flick missed the 50-crore mark by just Rs 2 crore, the Hindi film was left far behind with an estimated collection of Rs 3.25 crore nett.
The first week’s collection earned by ‘Dominion’ also fell a little short on the collections earned in for the film’s sequel ‘Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom’ which earned around Rs 52 crore nett. Despite not meeting the mark, the film maintained a steady graph at the box office earning an average of Rs 3 crore on Monday and Tuesday. The film saw a drop in collections on Wednesday, recording around Rs 2.50 crore, however, according to trade experts, the film is expected to remain among the top-earning films this week as the new Bollywood release ‘Nikamma’ opened to poor reviews and poor footfall at the box office.
If predictions are right, ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ may just put up a double-digit weekend which could propel it past the Rs 70 crore mark. The next big Hollywood release is the Marvel superhero film ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ which will release on July 7.
‘Janhit Mein Jaari’ on the other hand is reportedly looking at a lifetime collection of around Rs 5 crore nett.
