After ending its first week on a positive note, Raj Mehta’s family drama, ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’ has kick-started its second week with decent numbers.

The Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani starrer grossed Rs 6 crore nett on its second Sunday, taking its overall collection to Rs 65 crore nett, a report in boxofficeIndia.com stated. The film has seen a good jump on its second weekend and is expected to collect Rs 13.50 crore nett in its second week.

Despite keeping up with its numbers in the second week, the film has a lot of grounds to cover to be called a hit and would reportedly need a very strong third week hold for it.

‘JugJugg Jeeyo’ also stars Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in lead roles along with Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Kohli in supporting roles. The film has received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

Earlier, ETimes got in touch with the film’s director Raj Mehta to get his perspective on the film’s success. An elated Raj said, “The reactions that I am getting so far have been positive. I am still getting so many messages from friends, family, industry people, random people who don’t know me. So I think ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’ has hit the right notes. It was meant to be an entertainer at the end of the day. People have said that they have laughed, they’ve cried. So I think it’s served the purpose.”
