Vikramaditya Motwane’s new series ‘Jubilee’ is an ode to old Hindi cinema. In his own words, “it’s a tribute to the golden era of Bollywood.” The story is set against the backdrop of the 1947 Bombay. While it takes you to the music, costumes and movies of those times, the series will take the viewers through the dark side behind all the glamour.
We are introduced to Aparshakti Khurana’s character who is called Binod. He is a trusted aide of a film studio. The owner of the film’s studio (Prosenjit ) sends him behind superstar Madan Kumar (Nandish Sandhu), because he’s having an affair with his wife, Savitri Kumari. After Kumar dies in an accident, Binod takes his place and becomes the next superstar. The series will also showcase the struggles of new actors to make a mark.

Aditi’s character says in the trailer, “This business we are in…showbiz…everyone loves talking here. The one who stays quiet wins the race.”

However , the director, while the series is called ‘Jubilee’, it’s actually a very human story which will resonate with everyone and that’s what drew him to the story. The makers have researched for many years for this. The trailer is intriguing and will surely keep you glued, making you look forward to the series which is set to release on April 7. The first part will have five episodes. The other five episodes will release on April 14.

‘Jubilee’ also stars Siddhant Gupta, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ram Kapoor in key roles.
